I will give you hints.
I have:
A) wanted to do this since I was 15
B) wanted to do this but was talked out of it because it might have affected the market
C) wanted to do this since I figured out I was running out of places to adorn
I got two more piercings in each ear! I now have a five-pointed star and an eight-pointed star trailing down to my main piercing, and I'm as giddy as I would have been if I'd gotten it done when I was 15. I got it done at Venus by Maria Tash, which
vschanoes introduced me to almost a year ago, when I dithered and shilly-shally'd and couldn't quite commit. But today I sort of found myself thinking ... what am I waiting for?
Godot is never going to come along and say, dude, go for it. Neither will the Big Lebowski. So ... since it's something I've always wanted to do, what the hell is holding me back?
A good question to apply to many categories, frankly.
I quite love how this looks. It's alternative enough to make me feel a little bit more myself, as all the best changes do (an extension of my mother's advice/question when shopping: does it make you better?), and yet sophisticated enough to make me preen.
Next up: the new tattoo!
vschanoes found the perfect, perfect artist, and I'm thinking a trip to glorious Massachusetts might be in order.
[picture me rubbing my hands together gleefully here. Go on, you know that it's harder to avoid than the thought of a blue-eyed polar bear ....]
