Travel advice?

d_aulnoyQuestion for any of you guys who are familiar with Norwich: is there, um, an easier way to do this?
I'm going to be presenting at the Angela Carter conference at the University of East Anglia in April. I'm traveling from LA. As far as I've been able to ascertain, a direct flight from LA runs about $2200. A direct flight to Heathrow will cost me $700 (HIGHLY preferable, as you might imagine), but will mean that I'll get to cap an 11 hour flight with 3 or 4 hours on various buses or trains, or that I'll have the dubious pleasure of leaving a day earlier and spending a night in some grotty airport hotel.
