Just so this journal doesn't turn into all-about-my-cat-and-a-few-funny-commuting-stories ....

... I promise that soon, there will be a post about my Stealth Visit to NY for Thanksgiving, and how we stayed in a hotel room that exemplified irony.  I will write about shopping with [livejournal.com profile] fletcherschloe , and consuming The Best Dessert Ever (cheesecake lollipop FTW!) and how even the light in my parents house seems different than the light in California (something about the contrast of electric light on the 10th story in the rain is warm and glowy and welcoming, don't you think?) and about how old age is making me change my position of aisle seats vs. window seats.  I promise.  But in the meantime I am teaching three classes and prepping for my first MLA presentation, and I am a basket case.  Oh, and I appear to have the flu.  Yay, me!

But in the meantime, I have a wonderful grad. student who's writing a thesis on Harry Potter and the ways in which readers have responded positively to Slytherin, and I am realizing that, old fogey that I am, all of my favorite authors have gotten nifty book deals and taken their stuff down.  I know that both Cassie Claire and Maya (a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] sarahtales - sticking to the pen-names as much as I can for ease of referencing) had bundled files available, but it appears that I missed the boat on downloading them.  Could anyone point me in the right direction?  Or, if you were smarter than me, possibly e-mail the files to me?  Or, and what I really mean by "or" is "and," could you direct me to your favorite, "But, the Slytherins are really confused anti-heros!" type fanfic?  The media in question does not need to be literary: my student is more than amenable to fan art, and apparently a big fan of wizard rock (of which I know nada, so I will appreciate suggestions).

Muchas gracias
, f-list!

P.S. - I realize that in cases like this, "for a student" may come off in much the same light as "no, really, it's for a ... friend ...." but, come on now, you know me.  NO SHAME.
