Ten things I've done that you probably haven't done:

1) Rock-climbed in high heels.
2) Silversmithed while drunk.
3) Presented with food-poisoning.
4) Published at 21.
5) Guest-edited a journal by 24.
6) Lived with swastikas ... or a Chinless Wonder, although, luckily, these things happened at different times.
7) Attended a class still drunk from the night before, in the company of two peers still drunk on wine coolers, after having gone home for half an hour to shower, change, and add pearls to your ensemble.
8) *Taught* class in the same circumstances as #7, sans peers.
9) Kicked a pimp's ass at pool on the same night that you kicked his twin brother's ass at pool.
10) Gone to two conferences in a row with less then 4 hours of travel time/sleep between them.

Birthday at the 'rents was fun: I scored a disgustingly expensive new wallet to make up for the one stolen on a bad blind date in the summertime, a pendant, and a vase which my father (my father!) says will look dazzling when filled with peacock feathers (so don't blame me).

On to 26!

Have actually done Number One.

Was fun, too.

I KNOW! We should definitely go to a rock wall in pumps together to freak out the other climbers ...

[Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] did no 1, too... Didn't go to well.

And I did half of no 7 - we went directly to class and slept in the empty lecture hall for about an hour...

Dude, it never does ...

And if you slept, if doesn't count. The sleep deprivation is integral!

Ah, yes... That hour surely made my Tequila-induced coma flitter away like a happy butterfly... :)

My A in that class was a nice testament to just how much the prof sucked at lecturing...

Well, perhaps more like a hungover moth, but, nevertheless ... cheating!

Hey, P.S. - did you also do the part where you put on the pearls? 'Cause, otherwise, that's only like 1/3 of #7 ...

No, that took another six months, I think... And I wasn't drunk at the time. I was wearing an airy summer dress though.

Presented with food-poisoning.

it took me forever to figure out "giving a presentation" rather than "presenting with symptoms" in medical terms (thereby making me think, "why is that so strange...?")

but, even so, probably have - I know I've experienced presenting with some kind of throwing-up-disease on at least a few occasions, and I can't remember if any of them could have been food poisoning. really, if it involves throwing up, or some kind of stomach illness, I've probably done it.

Does it count if you give your first conference presentation jet-lagged with a monster cold you received two days earlier from one of the children you babysit that was aggravated by a long flight? And you take about three different kinds of cold medicine with you to the podium and hope your voice doesn't give out?
