I want a vacation. I know, I know ... we just had one. But I want a *real* vacation - the kind where there are no obligations hanging over your head (I wooooouuuuullllldddd be relaxing, but there are reviews to be written, papers to be graded, and, oh, lookie there, orals are in two weeks! etc.) I want the kind of a vacation where there's a decent amount of time to sleep late and do nothing but relax. Preferably in a warm place, possibly one where there's swimming available. Yeah, don't we all?
But I haven't done that since I was nine ... well, okay, eighteen, if you cancel the "swimming" part of it (Seattle).
I think that now, for the first time, I see why people take time off before starting grad. school: I'm exhausted. I haven't had a vacation in seven years - no summers off, no nada - and I'm TIRED.
My timing sucks ...
