Jan. 17th, 2005 02:11 pmHey, question: how can you tell if fish has gone bad? I ordered sushi from my usually reliable local place, and at first I thought that maybe they'd just changed the recipe (because the spicy salmon roll had a very strong nutty aftertaste). But after a few pieces ... Well, let's just say that it grew more unpleasant. So,
A) How can I tell whether they just changed the recipe in some unpalatable fashion or if it's actually poisonous,
and,
B) If it has ... turned ... exactly what happens when one eats bad fish?

Date: 2005-01-17 07:48 pm (UTC)Well, there's a lesson learned here. Never, ever, ever eat sushi on a Monday. Best to avoid Sundays as well. Tue-Sat is the only time to order fish...this is why so many sushi houses have 'astounding' cheap Monday deals. Like 5 for 1 salmon rolls.
I'm sure you'll be fine. Ol' fish isn't nearly as bad as old any other meat. You might be a bit...you know. But just drink a lot of water and don't eat any more of it, and stick to pretzels and bread for the day. Drink soda water. Maybe some tea. But I'm sure you'll be fine.
