Occasionally, someone else needs to kill the poisonous insects.

Who, I don't care.  It can be the husband: it can be the cat; it can be a friendly passing neighborhood superhero, newspaper-delivery-person, Roto-Rooter-Man, whatever, I don't care.

ENOUGH WITH THE BUGS, CALIFORNIA.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
.

This message brought to you by the water-bug-sized spider in my bath.

You think the bugs in CA are bad? Come out to Indiana! Each ant looks like it's a Transformer Ant made of like 5 California-sized ants. And don't get me started on the gigantic grasshoppers of doom! ;p

Ahahahahahaha ... pass? 'Cause CA's crickets (the ones that come indoors all the time and don't freak me out too much, though the tiger/lady choice of squashing for unsightly blotches, catching in hand and tossing out, or going for glass and stiff envelope and subsequently losing in the house are all equally unpalatable) still kind of make me wonder where the dividing line between "cricket" and "locust" really lies ....

My wife and I are saying the same thing about now. Oh Florida . . .

I know about the flying roaches (but not much else) ... doesn't that kind of fulfill and exceed FL's grossout quota?

We've got the flying roaches and a fair number of spiders. And numbers of other things I don't know how exactly to identify.

And Frequently Encountered Spiders in California. I warn you peruse are your own risk. Some of them are vary pretty if you can get past the squick factor.

The big spiders aren't poisonous, right?

Excellent question. I DON'T KNOW.

The black widows, I'm sure are poisonous, but I don't *think* I've ever seen one in the house, just the garage. Their equally large and aggressive looking brown sisters? Those have me stumped.

Looking forward to having you stay over!

So you can test your spiders out on me?

I made plane res's and hotel res's for thurs and fri. I'll be in touch with times and numbers sooner. It'll be good to see you and the gnu, and I hope at that point of the semester work won't be too crazy. It should fall in a nice valley between the tough beginning and the tough end.

Empathy, dude, empathy. The cat and husband were massively unmoved, being massively asleep.

Also, is *that* what you call that ... I have a whole different set of associations with the Happy Valley, which are all massively oppositional and unsuitable.
