I spent my morning writing a scintillating six pages on Walpole. Well, okay, maybe not scintillating, but my room still looks like something Strawberry Hill threw up on, what with all of the research scattered about.

Now I get to eat my first soyburger EVAH (P.S. - Hey, vegans? Ain't this a little ... pricey?) and grade some papers before going to KGB.

C'mon, you know you want to come wiiiiiiiith me, people ...

KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB! KGB!

God, being Russian and all, that just feels so *wrong.* It makes me wonder if, thirty years from now, after the political biases of my homeland drive me to seek asylum in a more welcoming clime, after the Old COuntry collapses under its own corruption and bad poilicy-making, *my* little first-generation immigrant children will come home all psyched out from going to a place called NSA or something ...

Heh. The closest I'd likely get to NY would be Philly, because I think that living in NY would drive me bungnuts. But even that is unlikely at this point. Alas, I adore the PNW and had been trying to get back for 8 years when I finally broke up with J and moved to Seattle. Perhaps when the novelty wears off and I get fidgety again or when I alienate all of my local friends by being a weird-o writer-type. ;)

Horace is one of my dead eighteenth-century boyfriends. I heart his correspondence with Mme du Deffand. Wow, she was mean. What are you writing about him?

I doesn't help that the sudden replication of KGB all-of-a-sudden-like suddenly thrust the song SATURDAY NIGHT by the Bay City Rollers into my head either...

"K-G-B-KG, B-K-G, B!"

I'm a silly, I'm sorry...
