Note to self: apparently? Among the various things that trigger my asthma, we can now include skunk.

After a long and delightful day of shopping with E. (jewelry district! fashion district! odd lots of pearls! miniature jewelry bench for Queen Rat! strange blue-grey lacy material apparently manufactured for Dawn, as it is printed with skulls and crossbones! velvet!), we all retired to the manse to watch "The Kingdom", which, btw, kind of blows due to its lack of anything resembling a sympathetic character, leading me to retire to the study after episode two, leaving the rest to finish out the season.

Three hours later, when E. and C. entered the room to the accompaniment of a certain ... odor ... I just found myself wondering where the hell they'd gotten beer in our house. It wasn't until C. exclaimed "Skunkalicious!" upon her exit out the front door (accompanied by my hacking, and somewhat confused cough, as I'd barely smoked at all, what with the shopping) that the penny dropped: oh, yeah; we live in the goddamned country.

Skunks. I ask you ....
