Jul. 11th, 2005 02:55 pmPretty much a full day after buying the iPod, I am finally trying to ... program ... it.
Being me, getting home and being tired, I was less then enthused about the prospect of learning new technology.
Right now, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? I am still less then enthused about it. But, when needs must ...
(I didn't buy the iPod because I <3 sleek toys. I bought it because the prospect of taking my decrepit CD player - cheapest one they had! the piece of crap doesn't even have a repeat button ... - and a gazillion CD's for the plane ride made my head hurt.)
So, I started with the important things: I decorated its little leather case with a minature labrys of silver and copper and garnet and named it Tinkerbelle.
Tinkerbelle is already being a bitch.
Er ... precisely how does one import music?

How to fill it:
Install Musicmatch from the CD
Let MusicMatch map your harddrive, looking for music
Plug in the Ipod
Let MusicMatch synchronize the ipod with the computer

Hope this helps...
Date: 2005-07-12 12:53 am (UTC)2. install itunes
3. open itunes and create a folder called "to copy to ipod" (this is just how I do it, so I don't then forget to drag and drop the tracks to ipod)
4. put cd into computer (skip steps 4 and 5 if you already have all your music saved on your hard-drive)
5. highlight and then click/drag all the tracks on that cd to the "copy to ipod" folder
Note that doing this will AUTOMATICALLY also add the tracks to your ipod general library on your hard drive.
6. connect the appropriate end of your usb cord to ipod, plug in the usb cord of the ipod into the computer at the other end. Tinkerbelle should show up as in icon on the left-hand side of the itunes window (it may takes a few seconds)
7. click and drag those tracks you just copied to Tinkerbelle's icon and itunes will copy the songs to itunes
8. proceed to next cd.
If everything is already on your harddrive, in itunes go to File -> import and select your music folder to import all your music, and THEN drag it all to Tinkerbelle.
