2009 involved a lot of lonely; I had just moved and didn't know many people, and I worked an a-typical schedule. In 2010 I'd like to learn better skills to love and support the friends I have, and continue to cultivate networks of people here. I hadn't moved entirely (though folk had moved around me) to a new place in 10 years, so I was past due, but damn, I had forgotten how hard it can be.
My roomie and friend and I will also be taking a belly-dancing class together (if we are buddies, we're less inclined to skip it when tired/blah/etc.).
I am looking forward to working on a local/organic farm this spring, baking bread for the anarchist co-op, and working for social justice (my life has been too empty of it, of late). I also want to vamp my French translation/grammar skills so I can take the Academe exam at the end of the year.
I wish you (all) the best of luck! and I agree, healthier coping mechanisms = for the win.
