I'm going to Disneyland! Only better ... I'm going to the "Fairy Tale After Angela Carter" conference in England next spring!
I'll be presenting on "Beastly Anxiety in Carter's Marriage Tales: If You Can't Beat 'em, Join 'em."
Excited (but very, very professional) dancing around the room to commence in three ... two ... one ....

Wanted to go, but am doing ISFNR in Athens this summer so I couldn't justify going to Europe for another conference. Also: I am starting on 2 fairy tale papers that I thought I'd let you know about in case our research turns out to be mutually illuminating. One is a project investigating skin in fairy tales (serving as a precursor to my dissertation on acne medication and healing narratives), and the other is a queer/feminist take on ATU 451, Brothers Turned into Birds, particularly the Grimms versions (involving however many swans, ravens, etc). So if you find anything really neat about skin, whether one is an animal or not, let's talk! :)
