My mouse is possessed.  Periodically, it will decide that it really really wants to be in the upper left-hand corner ... or the lower right ... or the dead middle of the page ... and it will stubbornly return there over and over and over again until it feels that it has demonstrated its independence, at which point it goes back to acting like, well, a mouse.  You know, fundamentally inanimate and useful.  This does not appear to be linked to jamming, sensitivity, or any other damned thing I can pinpoint.

Perhaps I should download a Ouija board background ....

Also, I now want a real, live, furry mouse.  I think it would make a much better candidate for possession.

Is it an optical mouse? If not, try popping out the trackball and cleaning it and the wheels inside.

It's a laptop nub (now, with added touchscreen redundancy!) - at first, I figured it was getting jammed to one side or another, but now it's doing it completely randomly. The gods of tech? LOVE me. LOVE, baby.
