My life is fairly boring at the mo', so I'm just going to link to some potentially amusing links:
Dick and Jane Go to Shul, or Yiddish With Dick and Jane
I like this one because, well, frankly, Dick and Jane are eminently mockable, I like retellings, and picturing the infusion of salty Jewish humor into cookie-cutter America makes me happy.
I'm kinda torn on this one. On the one hand, it captures the rage and dismay of the Blue states, Day One, rather nicely. It was probably catharitic as hell for the writer, and - yes, I'm a bad person - it's kinda cathartic for me. If infuses me with a temporary sort of a "You go, girl!" feeling, and its both frenetic profanity and bile amuse me in much the same way that early Dennis Miller or the Misanthropic Bitch do. On the other hand, it's a prejudiced bit of tripe that doesn't take any of the demographics into account (owner of "Fuck the South": see the Purple Map). But, hey, see for yourselves ...
And, finally, homotextuality! Given my predilication for reading *everything* I come across (no, really ... the other day Bryn recommended a really, really awful historical romance to me and I read the whole damn thing, despite knowing from word one that I would regret it), I think that I suffer from textual addiction. Furthemore, in light of the fact that I dog-ear, underline, and scribble all over the margins, I think that I'm a textual abuser. What's your textuality?
