Just in case anybody's ever wondered just how long it takes to scan 80 individual pages?

It's an hour and a half, plus image processing.

OY.

Coursepack?

if you need to do this often, I can recommend a $300 document scanner that would have done that job in about 20 minutes.

I have one and it has changed my life. Double sided too!

Coursepack, indeed - if only the bookstore had given me more than 2 days notice that they'd be unable to procure several (!) of the texts that I'd ordered. Instead, I'm scanning and posting and photocopying and passing my way through the term.

And that really does sound like a miracle machine - do you mean loose pages, or bound? Because it really was the manual part that was time consuming and annoying (though the pressing the book firmly onto the glass was no prize, either.

Yeah, its for loose pages =(

No one has developed an affordable page turning scanner unfortunately.

Regardless though anyone who has to deal with paper in nearly any form, NEEDS to own this thing:

I scanned 5 years worth of Con-Ed bills in about 20 minutes.
Took me longer to shred them.

Blessings be upon your head! When I find the moolah, I'm definitely replacing Old Creaky with one of these.
