In other news, it is so damned hot that the water coming out of the cold-water tap is actually hot. Not boiling hot, but warmer than lukewarm, definitely.
So I just put ice in my cat's water dish. After a few minutes of offended befuddlement (you could just see the cat doing the feline equivalent of "Waitor, there's a fly in my soup!") she apparently figured out that the ice was, y'know, ice, and that the water around it was perceptibly cooler. My cat is now licking the ice cube.
