It's been a freaky term, people. I'm teaching my YA class again, which is great, and a grad class on fairy tale retellings (which is, if possible, greater, even if they didn't read the 100+ pages which I laboriously scanned in for them - in their defense, they had a paper due that day, but still people, respect the resulting carpal tunnel). I've got two articles due for collections before the end of the term, I just bought my tickets for a MA defense in Illinois, and I'm back in NY over Memorial Day weekend ... but that's no excuse for almost missing the IAF auction. Damn, I hope there's still time to submit ... I've been planning a black stick pearl thingy for "Rats" for ages!
In my own defense (have I blogged about this before? I could swear I had, but then again, I also thought I'd warned people about the marriage), but, just in case I hadn't: life, it is a-changing. As of Tuesday last week, I've been married six months: as of Tuesday next week, we're basically going long-distance again. The Gnu got an awesome job - in Houston. So, I'll be moving closer to the university (yay!), and he'll be traveling back on weekends (hm). It'll be great for work ... but it's a vaguely terrifying paradigm shift. Like, damn, universe, not enough change for you this year? I learned to drive, damnit! What more do you want from a girl?
Eh. To quote my favorite song in the world, when I grow up, I'll be stable. In the meantime, I'll be productive.
Well, assuming that I don't miss the deadlines.
